Massey University’s School of Aviation was fortunate to still host its annual Wings Ceremony. The ceremony takes place as each cohort completes the flight-training component of the Bachelor of Aviation degree. For most, receiving their commercial pilot’s license or “wings” is as significant as graduating. Four students also were successful recipients of academic awards. These are awarded to recipients who have completed a program of academic and practicum study within a professional pilot training program. International student and Old Boy Krittamet Chiewvatsagonchai ’13 was the recipient of the Palmerston North Airport-Professional Attributes Award. This award is presented to the student who has stood out amongst his or her peers as demonstrating a very high level of determination, dedication and a good attitude. He said the course is full of competitive people and students who want to be at the top of the class and this is a reason why he has been able to maintain a good attitude and determination throughout. It's a huge honour to receive the award and means a lot. The award shows his determination to always work hard has finally paid off. Chiewvatsagonchai ’13 hopes to become a flight instructor himself at Massey’s School of Aviation before moving on to fulfil his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot.
