Members of the Headmaster's Heritage Committee have been speaking to some of our Old Boys about their careers, and how their time at the School shaped them. Mr Ron Chadwick '47 was Auckland Grammar School's first recipient of the Old Boy of the Year Award (now called the Augusta Award). He has contributed majorly to the public sector over his life, particularly in the police force, where he served as inspector for 18 years. Ron was very active at Grammar, particularly on the sports field, setting the school record for Discus which stood for 29 years, and now contributes an award towards the top sportsman at prizegiving each year. He also received the special medal in 2007 for his efforts during the Erebus Operation in 1979. Click here to watch the full interview with Ron.
